The notion of “Liangzhi” in this paper has two concepts. It could either be used as a verb to mean the interpretation of “Liangzhi” or be used as a noun to mean the theory of “Liangzhi”.However,in this paper,we may focus more on discussing the theory of “Liangzhi”.The purpose of the induction of the Post-Yangming’s school of thought(except the thought of Wang Ji)is to compare the thoughts of other Post-Yangming’s school scholars with the thoughts of Wang Ji.In this paper,we will try to make clear of the argumentation, formation, and significance of Wang Ji’s theory of “Liangzhi”.The argumentation of Wang Ji’s theory of “Liangzhi” follows the logical chain of “‘mind’→ The Extension of Innate Knowledge→ The extension of Innate Knowledge is ‘Liangzhi’→ ‘Liangzhi’ resonates more with ‘wisdom’ rather than ‘knowledge’→ ‘Liangzhi’ is the brief instinct of the ‘mind’→ ‘Liangzhi could unconsciously lead to the knowing of everything”.When we are merely following the logical chain of “Liangzhi”,we could tell that Yang Ji’s theory of “Liangzhi” is almost identical with Wang Yangming’s theory of “Liangzhi”.However,if we focus more on demonstrating the characters of “Liangzhi” and the theory of “Siwu”,we can generally say the Wang Ji surpassed Wan Yangming in some aspect. The surpassing of Wang Ji to Wang Yangming in the explanation of “Liangzhi” is exactly what we are planning on discussing in this paper. After analyzing the reasons for the surpassing,we believe this benefits from the fact that Wang Ji’s rigorous speculation of the definitions of “Liangzhi”,comparing to Wang Yangming, and his absorbing of the theory of Taoism. These two innovations benefit to his surpassing to Wang Yangming. In order to ensure the integrated structure of this paper, the two aspects listed above will to discussed in the fourth section of this paper.
