Adam Smith is the celebrated economist,ethicist and philosopher of the United Kingdom in 18 th century,and one of the founders of the theory of market economy in like manner.Yet Adam Smith's thought of moral ethics hasn't been regarded by academics which was not as his economic theory been.However,Adam Smith's moral ethics thought is the one which has been informing his entire theory virtually.That's also the reason why it's been said the study which was in terms of economic theory only couldn't realize Adam Smith's thoughts completely.Accordingly,the thesis is based on the primary text of study in The Theory of Moral Sentiments and The Theory of National Wealth,and attempted to get enlightenment with mirrored the academics' correlative study achievements by studying Adam Smith's moral ethics thoughts deeply and systematically exceedingly.Adam Smith's moral ethics thoughts has been investigated historically which it's historical context in ideas and culture and specific economic and social status of developments in western Europe by the thesis' explaining primarily.Further more,the thesis also expounds and dissects emphatically the major elements of Adam Smith's moral ethics thoughts:the one is basis on the sympathy as logical starting point in Adam Smith's moral theory,the other one is basis on the individualism and altruism in Adam Smith's market thoughts.In additions,the thesis evaluates objectively realistic rationality and theoretical limitation of Adam Smith's moral ethics thoughts,and indicates the inspirations for our nation's moral education of colleges and universities implicitly at the end:assessing the individualism of human beings objectively and differentiate the relationship of individualism and altruism in dialectic in moral educations with educational contents,and emphasizing educatees' subjectivity in the educational course and combining the specific educational environment in moral educations with educational method.
