As economic globalization develops vigorously and continues to deepen, our world has become a close-linked organic whole, which makes exchanges and cooperation between countries in economy, politics, science and technology, culture, education and other areas become increasingly frequent.Consecutive interpretation,as an important part of interpretation, has played an indispensable role on the important occasions, such as public speech, attracting foreign investment, bilateral negotiation and press releases. The Relevance Theory, put forward by Dan Sperber and Deridre Wilson in 1986 from their work Relevance:Communication and Cognition, regards language communication as an ostensive-inferential process. As interpretation is also a kind of language communication, the Relevance Theory has powerful explanatory and guiding significance to interpretation. As a report of field interpretation, this paper attempts to analyze and study five major types of errors author has made during the field interpretation, which are:mistranslation, pretermission, inaccuracy, redundancy and lack of fluency.According to the guidance significance of the Relevance Theory during the process of interpretation, the author put forward six strategies:enrich cognitive context, familiar with the speaker and audience, strengthen listening comprehension skills,note-taking skills, bilingual competence and interpreting skills to improve interpreters' competence.
