As a universal social phenomenon,pro-social behavior plays a very important and positive role in social progress. This research is based on the theory of self-regulating orientation, the theory of adjustment matching and the theory of ego depletion. We explore the influence of pro-social behavior on individual emotions. And on the basis of this,we explore whether the individual with trait of self-regulating orientation has an effect on the emotions after making pro-social behavior. It not only enriches the contents of the research on pro-social behaviors, but also provides theoretical basis for educating people to set up correct values.Experiment one is a single factor design. We used the experimental helping paradigm,pro-social behavior as independent variable, individual emotion as dependent variable. The study shows that pro-social behavior(have/non)has a significant impact on individual emotions.Specifically, the group with pro-social behavior experienced higher positive emotions and lower negative emotions than non-prosocial behavior group.Experiment two is the design of 2×2 between subjects.Experiment two is on the basis of experiment one.We used the experimental helping paradigm,pro-social behavior as independent variable, the trait of self-regulatory orientation as a moderator, emotions of the individual as the dependent variable. We adopt the working memory task paradigm to measure ego depletion.Experiment two shows that:(1)Pro-social behavior(have/non)and trait self-regulatory orientation have a significant interaction effect on the emotions.(2)The interaction of pro-social behavior(have/non)and the trait of regulation orientations have an effect on negative emotion.Experiment three is the design of between 2 × 2 subjects. In experiment 2,the influence of initial emotion on individual emotion and behavior was not taken into account. In order to be more complete and persuasive, experiment 3 was further designed. And the Stroop paradigm was used to measure ego depletion. The experimental helping paradigm was still used,pro-social behavior as independent variable, the trait of self-regulation orientation as regulatory variable.Emotions of the individual were dependent variable.Experiment three shows that:(1)Pro-socialbehavior(have/non)and the trait of self-regulatory orientation have a significant emotional interaction effect.(2)The interaction of pro-social behavior(have/non)and the trait of regulation orientations have an effect on negative emotion.Summarizing the above three experiments,we conclude:When people have pro-social behavior, those who are prevention orientation have lower self-loss and experience lower negative emotions, than those who are promotion orientation. And When people have no pro-social those who do not have pro-social behavior have lower self-loss and lower negative emotions than those who are promotion orientation.Defensive-oriented individuals experience greater self-loss and experience higher negative emotions.
