Taoist culture is the crystallization of human wisdom.“Tao follows nature”is the core of Lao Zi's thought,the founder of Taoist culture it advocates that human beings reflect their values in a natural state.This paper with the perspective of “Tao follows nature”,briefly expounds the basic connotation of“Tao follows nature” from the aspects of Lao Zi's "Tao",the meaning of "Nature",and the aesthetic connotation of "Tao follows nature".At the same time,it chose a representative ancient poetry vocal work A night with flowers and moonlight by the river in Spring to analyze the lyrics,melodic characteristics,and structure meticulously,and obtained some singing experience,and explored the significance of studying the thought of "Tao follows nature" for vocal learning through exploring the thought “Tao follows nature” embodies,which is that vocal performers should regard "Nature" as the highest value standard for vocal music works and aesthetics.It would like to provide some new value of thinking for vocal music performance and teaching.
