| Buzzword is a language phenomenon which is very closely related to our social life,and it is worth a linguistic research.It also has a pretty rich and vivid corpus.Emerging in the end of 2015,“yi yan buhe jiu X”became one of the Top 10Buzzwords of 2016 issued by a well-famed Chinese linguistic magazine yaowen-jiaozi on December 14,2016.Up to now,several scholars have studied the buzzword construction.Most of those studies focused on the semantic meanings,grammatical form as well as pragmatic features of“yi yan buhe jiu X”.Besides,meme theory and some cognitive methods like prototype categorization,metaphor and construction grammar have also been used by some scholars.But those studies didn't come into the more in-depth cognitive explanation of it either build a systematic corpus to study it more sufficiently and precisely.“yi yan buhe jiu…”has been a common expression in Chinese,which means“as long as one has a word disagree with the other,he/she soon does something to hurt the other or hurt himself/herself”,such as“???????”(yi yan buhe jiu kaida),“???????”(yi yan buhe jiu zisha)and so on.While the buzzword construction“yi yan buhe jiu X”has emergent meanings due to the changes of collocation and context.It inherits the constructional meaning of the construction“yi yan buhe jiu…”,besides,it can also express a kind of subtle and interesting emotion,containing the meanings of complaining,bantering or being surprised.This thesis conducts a quantitative study and a qualitative study on this buzzword construction.As for the quantitative study,this thesis collects 33 items of the traditional expression “yi yan buhe jiu…” and 147 items of the buzzword expression “yi yan buhe jiu X” and builds a corpus for an overall analysis of the buzzword construction.Based on the corpus,this thesis analyses the semantic features and the pragmatic features of the buzzword construction “yi yan buhe jiu X”.As for the qualitative study,from the perspective of cognitive linguistics,this thesis comes up with an Autonomy-Dependence and Construction Coercion Model(ADC Model).Taking the ADC Model as theoretical framework,this thesis conducts a conceptual analysis and a linguistic analysis of the buzzword construction “yi yan buhe jiu X”.This thesis also analyses the social factors which affect the generation and spread of this buzzword construction.Due to the reason that this buzzword construction emerges in a certain social environment,some social factors play important roles in the generation and spread of this buzzword construction.This thesis builds the ADC Model and uses it as the theoretical framework to conduct a conceptual analysis and a linguistic analysis of the construction.The analyses at the two levels complement and coordinate each other,which can provide a better explanation of the cognitive mechanism of the buzzword construction,thus promoting people's cognition of this kind of language phenomenon.At the same time,this research can enrich the explanatory power of autonomy-dependence theory and construction coercion theory.This thesis collects data and builds a corpus of the buzzword construction for an overall analysis.When analyzing the semantic features and the pragmatic features of the buzzword construction,this thesis finds out that the word “yi yan buhe” is grammaticalized in the buzzword construction “yi yan buhe jiu X”.i.e.,it changes from a notional word to a structural word which only has grammatical function and pragmatic function.This thesis also finds out the effect of the meaning of the superordinate construction “yi A jiu B” on the meaning of the buzzword expression “yi yan buhe jiu X”.This thesis analyzes the construction coercion as well as the dual coercion when “X” is a noun.This thesis also analyzes the effects of social factors on the generation and popularization of the buzzword construction “yi yan buhe jiu X”. |
