It is widely known that multimodal teaching is frequently used in English teaching in China.In order to improve the quality of teaching and increase students' interest and engagement in the class,Chinese teaching should also learn from the teaching mode and method.In class,multimedia courseware,pictures,audio,video,animation,facial expression,in-kind and other resources play an important role,but there are still many deficiencies in this area.Based on the theory of multimodal discourse analysis,this paper uses a variety of sensory modalities,such as auditory,visual and tactile methods.What I do is to design and develop an extracurricular mobile App for textbook "YCT Standard Course 1" through various means and symbolic resources such as language,image,sound,to Extend the training,and to shorten the gap between books and the education and to improve the passing rate of students YCT1 exam.Textbooks still play a leading role,but supplementary design beyond teaching materials will make it more lively and diversified,add fun to Chinese learning both at home and abroad,and also contribute my effort to the population of Chinese.Firstly,the thesis elucidates the reasons for selecting the teaching materials,introduces the theory of multimodal discourse analysis and explores how to Apply it to the children's mobile teaching aid,"YCT Standard Course 1".Secondly,I briefly describes the Chinese mobile learning and then defines the development of Chinese mobile learning software for children.Finally,taking the children's teaching material "YCT Standard Course 1" as an example,and describing the design principles,material arrangement and module presentation of the mobile auxiliary software.I sincerely hope that the designs I made will be put into practice so that more children abroad can learn about China and love Chinese through multimodal learning of Chinese.It also add luster to the online learning in the information age.
