Taihe Village's “Nanzhao Dehua Stone Monument” is located in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. It clearly records the developing and cultural relations between the Nanzhao Kingdom and Tang dynasty during the ancient Dian Kingdom period. It reveals the historical truth from the original friendship with the Tang Dynasty and forced rebellion and makes up for the insufficiency of the official history. However, its inscriptions are almost obsolete because of its age,and only a few words remain in the center and upper half of the northern part and the upper part on the southern part. Therefore, this paper starts from the style of calligraphy and writing on the stone monument, and reinterprets the historical trend from the perspective of the development and inheritance of calligraphy. This paper tries to use the Nanzhao Dehua Stone Monument as a breakthrough point to explores the relationship between the calligraphic style of the Central Plains region and that of the Yunnan region, and compares with the relative inscriptions of the same period in the Yunnan region. This paper compares the related inscriptions in the same period in Yunnan with these in the Central Plains,in order to find out the calligraphic inheritance relationship between these two regions, and tries to explore the internal causes of these connections the parallel calligraphy culture relationship.Secondly, this paper also seeks for the spirit of the literatus hiding behind the "Nanzhao Dehua Stone Monument " and to make a new interpretation of the spirit of the literatus from the Central Plains region that the ethnic minorities aspired to.
