On Mr. Zhong Ping's Ecological Novel

Since nineteenth Century,green trend has deeply rooted in people's heart.Along with the green trend comes the ecological literature which has drawn people's attention.It has become the main theme of many works of literature and the focus of many researchers.Among them,Zhong Ping is one of the most representative.He was born in Tongchuan,Shannxi and expresses all his great feelings for his hometown in his works of literature because of his love for literature and art.Since 1990 s,Zhong Ping has been devoted to ecological literature.Besides a lot of essays and reportage,he has so far written two novels: Between Heaven and Earth,On the Plateau.Zhongping describes his hometown in most of his works,which is mainly related to the scenery,customs and people of Northern Shaanxi.It is not only praise for nature,but also praise for ecological builders of this land.He has paid much attention to the theme of construction of homelands with a good economical balance.His works in which he expresses his deep thinking about nature,society and spirit represent the characteristics of the times and strong realistic spirit.Zhongping's ecological works give up the theme of exposing ecological crisis;they carry positive thinking and energy.Thus analysis on his works is of positive significance in our modern times,especially in the current development of our society.In this thesis,many ecological theories were explored to analyze Zhong Ping's novels and find out the ecological thought in them in order to further improve people's attention and care on ecological literature,and ultimately try to make people aware of ecological consciousness and defend our common homeland.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The main content is following: The first part,introduction,firstly gives a brief introduction of Zhongping and summarizes Zhongping's ecological and cultural feelings;secondly,it gives an introduction of Zhongping's works and the value of research on them.The second part is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is an analysis of the theme of ecology and his attitude of awe towards nature in his novel.The second chapter mainly explores the theme of social ecology and his attitude of living in harmony.It elaborates the concept of social ecology expressed in the novels from the pure harmonious relationship between people and rich and folksy custom;secondly,it expounds the idea of construction of ecological civilization in the novel from people's determination of building new homeland.The third chapter mainly analyzes the theme of homeland and spiritual ecology expressed in Zhongping's novels.It mainly elaborates the idea of spiritual ecology from three aspects: the plight in human spirit,the different images with ecological personalities,and people's longing for their homeland,the awakening of the spiritual journey and the harmonious homeland.The third part is the conclusion of this thesis,which mainly comments on the value and deficiency of Zhongping's novels.
