“My Heart is Yours Alone” is a well-known tenor aria from Operetta “The Landof Smiles”,created by Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehár(1870-1948).It isprofoundly and widely loved by tenors worldwide with its graceful melody and fineemotional expression.The leading character,prince Sou-Chong sings thewell-reputed tenor aria “My Heart is Yours Alone” when Lisa was leaving him forVienna,trying to recover the long icy heart of Lisa.The paper dedicates to analyzethe different versions of the tenor aria “My Heart is Yours Alone” by prestigioustenor singers home and abroad—Juan Diego Flórez,Jonas Kaufmann,Shi Yijie,andWang Chuanyue—from the perspectives of content structure,creation background,and creation approach of the works.The author also compares the four versionsfrom singing speed,personal tone,and stage performance,and then combines theirversions with the study of his own singing practice,in the hope to find a propersinging method that suits the author's current singing capacity.The dissertationalso aims to help more vocal music learners to better learn and sing theuniversally-praised German tenor aria.
