Study Of Socialist Core Values Nourished By Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture

The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed for the first time to advocate prosperity, strength, democracy, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality, fairness, law-based governance, patriotism, dedication, honesty and friendliness, which not only precisely and reasonably summarize the features of the increasingly fierce global competitive situation and the cultural diversity in China, but also fit in well with the Chinese excellent traditional culture. For long-term peace and order, a core value is indispensible at any time as the leading ideology to influence, restrict and normalize each member of society. The core value of any society has its origin. To further set and fasten modern core values against the background where profound change is occurring to the world, countries and societies, we must backtrack to the same origin and find out the constant spiritual pursuits, features and veins in the Chinese traditional culture which survives and keeps moving after thousands of years.Guided by Marxist Theory, this paper proceeded from six major aspects:it introduced the background meaning of the topic chosen, and the research status, methods and innovations at home and abroad; it elaborated the evolution, content, features, etc. of the two major concepts, i.e., Chinese excellent traditional culture and socialist core values; from dialectical inheritance and innovative development, it analyzed the nourishing relationship between the two sides, figured out the inside uniform relationship between functioning origin and theoretical improvement, and insisted that we work on strengthening our national cultural confidence and promoting modern transformation; based on that, it proposed that we should stick to the principle of combining tradition and modernity, nationality and world, dominancy and diversity, as well as placed equal emphasis upon national education, traditional culture promotion, traditional etiquette practice and construction of "The Chinese Dream"; it insisted on precisely summarizing the features of excellent traditional culture, highly valuing the moral education of "five constant virtues", centering around the people and construction of people's livelihood, treasuring social harmony, emphasizing individual moral construction and cultivating healthy personality, which further materialized how to advance and enrich excellent traditional culture, nurture and practice socialist core values; and in the end, it re-emphasized that we should pay attention to the three important aspects throughout the nourishment, i.e. adjusting measures to people, timing and local conditions, case-by-case analysis, and expand the horizon of nourishing.In conclusion, there's no doubt that the Chinese excellent traditional culture, which is bred in the bones of Chinese people through thousands of years, is the most powerful weapon to nourish core values. Learning from the Chinese excellent traditional culture to nourish plentiful socialist core values will take the initiative more effectively to spread ideology and culture, thus guiding people to realize "The Chinese Dream" more steadfastly and confidently.
