Study On Foreign Exchange And Collaboration Of Local Government

The enhancement of foreign exchange and collaboration by local government is an inevitable trend, demonstrating that globalization is thoroughly developed. Based on public diplomacy theory, government is the major part of public diplomacy, and uses public diplomacy as a “lubricant” to promote political, economical, and cultural exchange among different countries. Based on foreign communication theory, information exchange has brought unprecedented development in international communication and global communication. And local government, as the local management institution, is the major executor of foreign image communication. It is of great importance both theoretically and practically that Chinese local governments strengthen foreign exchange and collaboration.The essay takes Nanchang, in Jiangxi province as an example to explore the current circumstances of foreign collaboration in Nanchang in three dimensions, development of foreign trade, public diplomacy, and foreign communication, therefore discussing the problems in the foreign exchange and collaboration in Nanchang, raising some constructive concerns about improving foreign exchange and collaboration. According to this essay, there is a huge potential and a great development space in promoting the foreign exchange and collaboration in Nanchang. According to the idea of foreign exchange innovation, Nanchang would vastly improve foreign exchange and collaboration through enhancing foreign trade construction, building new public diplomacy platform, utilizing historical and cultural resources to create a city brand, and narrating excellent city stories.In the future, local government in China should combine local specialties and create an integrated foreign exchange to develop political, economical, cultural, social and ecological “five-in-one” sound foreign collaboration, in order to connect home and abroad, develop trade and economy, spread positive image, and communicate feelings of the people.
