The Study Of Contemporary Chinese Integration On Ethnic Identification And National Identification

Nowadays, multinational countries still play a significant role in community of nations worldwide. TO be more specific, members of society are affiliated with different groups and have various identities. In this case, ethnic identity and citizenship are the most fundamental and important identify. Thus, it is still a considerable problem in national problems and national relationship that the duality of identify from members of society causes the profound changes between ethic identify and citizenship. Based on this points, development of ethnic identification and national identification will determine whether inside of multinational countries is conflicting and peaceful. With the development of globalization, internal ethnic conflicts and problems become more and more complicated. Specifically, these problems include not only internal ethnic problems, but international ethnic problems as well. The reasons for this are in particular disunity in ethnic identification and national identification. In other words, ethic identification and national identification which are formed by ethnic identity and citizenship separately are completely consistent. Therefore, national stabilization and harmonious society rely on researches of ethnic identification and national identification. So, China is consider as a standard multinational country, China should not be ignored on problem of ethnic identification and national identification. In recent years, comprehensive strength of China has been enhanced greatly, which make ethnic relationship and problems become more complicated. Hence, China have to strengthen ethnic identification and national identification so that China can achieve as early as the integration of ethnic identification and national identification. As a result, China should can achieve each nation to flourish jointly.To begin with, this paper describes conceptions of ethnic identification and national identification and tease out their relationship. Moreover, this paper inv estigates what tension and contradictions of contemporary Chinese ethnic identification and national identification is. Based on the theory of the multiple x and integrative structure of the Chinese nation that was built by Fei Xiaotong,this paper gain a special Chinese development patterns from ethnic identificatio n to Chinese ethnic identification, and national identification through usinganalysis of tension and contradictions. As a result, this paper finds out an inte grative way of ethnic identification and national identification with Chinese characteristics.
