The Predicament And Outlet Of Women's Federation In The Women's Rights Safeguard

Along with the rapid economic and social development since the reform and opening up, the majority of women gradually get rid of all kinds of shackles, enjoy a wide range of rights and get the equal status with men in the law.However, because of the fact that women and men are not equal in existence for thousands of years, the legitimate rights and interests in the social reality have not been effectively guaranteed,against the legitimate rights and interests of women still exists.With the transformation of economy and society, the emergence of new situations and new problems make the protection of women's legitimate rights and interests become more complex.Women's federation, as an organization that united by Chinese women from all walks of life in struggle for women liberation under the leadership of the communist party of China,was characterized as Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) in 1995.It is the bridge and link between the communist party,people's government with women, and it is one of the most important social pillar of the people's republic of China.Its basic function is to represent and safeguard the rights and interests of women and promote equality between men and women. Women's rights and interests, including in the fields of economy, politics, culture, society and so on, are directly reflected in the actual status and role of women in society.It is an important task that strengthen the function of women's federation and make the work of women rights safeguard have a further improvement to protect women rights and interests under the new normal condition.Based on Non-Governmental Organizations theory, social gender theory, Marx's feminist theory, gender equality and women's development theory,this paper studies the function, history and present situation of China Women's federation in safeguarding women's rights.Taking N city's women federation as an example, examined the specific practices in safeguarding women's rights and interests, analyzed its advantages,dilemma and causes. Tentatively puts forward suggestions and countermeasures to strengthen the functions of women federation in protecting women's rights.
