The Understanding Of Views Of China In Japanese Political Science Field

Japanese political scientists' speeches always have great influence on Japanese attitudes toward china. Therefore, the changes in Japanese image cognition of china not only reflect the changes of their social cognitive perspective, but also reflect Japanese government's China policy and strategy.Since the beginning of 21 th century, China has achieved sustained and rapid economic development and considerably improved its overall national strength, which lead to an increasing international status. On the contrary, Japanese economy remains stuck at its low point yet. Facing with china's strengthened economic power and entry into WTO, Japan, as a neighboring country, immediately has a strong sense of crisis.According to the above reasons, exploring Japanese political scientists' views of China at the beginning of 21 st century is of great significance in studying the policy tendency between Japanese and China.This paper firstly applies the methods of literature research, investigation and comparative analysis to undertake research on some representative Japanese political scholars from 2001 to 2006 and arguments, works and thesis concerned with views of China. Then, by analyzing various features of scholars' claim, the paper divided those scholars into two kinds of types: regarding China as a challenge and regarding China as an opportunity. Further, it makes a further study on some smaller types of each of them. At last, it analyzes the causes based on the international environment and Japanese situation.The primitive analysis and research above has pointed out characters as well as dynamic trends of Japanese political scholars' understanding of China. First, at the beginning of 20 th century, Japanese political scientists' views of China show the character of complication and diversity. Second, it discovers the reason why the relation between China and Japan get worse. Third, facing with the rise of China, Japanese political scientists begin to adopt effective counter-measures. Fourth, the relationship between Japan and China is gradually evolving from amity to alienation. What's worse, Right Deviation appears among some political scholars. Finally, this paper analyzes the effects of the Japanese political scholars' views of China upon the relationship between Japan and China. On the one hand, the positive influence of it is that it promotes the communication between the local and economic groups of the two countries. On the other hand, the negative influence is that the development of the East Asian Community is being in the negative growth period. Japan heavily depends on its alliance with Washington and use Taiwan issue as a base to hold back China's development.It is known from this paper that the understanding of views of China in Japanese political science field not only plays an important role in Japanese impression of China but also in the relationship between Japan and China. As a result, the research of the views in the political science field should be paid great attention. Studying the position of the Japanese political science field and the academic research are of great significance. It can not merely provide a valuable reference for the solution of China-Japan issue but also have a meaningful impact on correctly analyzing the tendency of Japan's policy towards China.
