| For a long time, how to handle Sino-Japanese relations has been thekey point of China’s diplomacy. In the foreseeable future, For a longtime, Japan’s foreign policy making has been puzzling scholars ofinternational relations. As a major political and economic force in AsiaPacific, Japan plays an important role in regional and even internationalaffairs. Therefore, it’s of utmost importance to recognize the keyfactors shaping Japan’s diplomacy. The complexity of Sino-Japaneserelations is mainly reflected in its flexibility. National characteris a constant in a given period,and can be very helpful for us to analyzethe source of a state’s policy direction and internal relations. n thisthesis, the Japanese national character will be defined asanaclisis,which contains three relative aspects. Through the analysisof anaclisis, it leads to three major characteristics of Japanesediplomacy. First, foreign policy can be easily changed by the great power;Second, diplomatic blind obedience, lack of strategic; Third, thedomestic nationalist sentiment uplift. Sino-US-Japan relations is themost important triangular relationship in current internationalpolitical reality, which is characterized by asymmetry of power. TheUS-Japan alliance provides the two countries with initiative ininternational interaction and situated China in a disadvantaged position.In spite of this, there’s still a subtle balance of power among thethree countries. However, this subtle balance has been broken by theright deviation of Japanese society. To pursue an all-win outcome ofinternational interaction and seek for a peaceful internationalenvironment we should get rid of this trilemma. Therefore, an intensiveresearch on the Japanese national character will be very meaningful. |
