Since the 21st century, as the number of female leaders in some countries and regions increases, "gender equality" has become an increasingly important global issue. With the democratization of the political transition, the number of female political elites gradually began to increase in Taiwan's political field since the late 1980s. The media representation of these women is considered as a starting point to observe the gender structure of the whole society by the scholars in the field of communication and gender.Based on the above research background and motivation, the main purpose of this study is to explore the frames being constructed by media which about the females on the top field of politics and check the ideology behind the frames whether have the progress of gender politics. In this study, I try to analysis the news about Tsai Ing-wen reported by the China Times and the Liberty Times by content analysis and news discourse analysis, and to interpret the gender implications and ideology behind the frames being constructed by media with Feminist Standpoint and Gender Theory. This study found that the media reports Tsai Ing-wen who is on the top of the political participation of women does not have the substantive significance of Gender Politics. At first, we still have noticed that the ideology of masculine political field flowing in Tsai's reports every moment. What's more, on the care of gender policy which can best reflect the progress of "gender politics", the media was in a state of collective silent and did not do any substantive action to the progress of gender. Finally, whether in politics or gender consciousness, media shaped the "new women" image of Tsai Ing-wen are still perceived to no sign of change, but "old politics" like old wine in a new bottle to repeat itself.
