Salvors are the participants of the salvage. In the salvage, the fundamental duty of salvors is to save the object in dander in the sea,and it is his fundamental right to get salvage award. In different types of salvage, the specific duties and rights of salvors are different, and the definition of salvors is also different. The purpose of the paper is to research the general rules and the specific rules of the definition of salvors. The definition of salvors is the key of the paper, which include four chapters. In the first chapter, the paper introduces the types of the salvage, salvors under different salvage and the definition of salvors.According to the Salvage Convention of 1989,the law of UK and maritime law,in our opinion, the rule of the limitation of salvors is different in different types of salvage. The rule of pure salvage is "personal service",and except to the pure salvage, the salvors need to satisify the principle of voluntariness. In the second chapter,we introduct of the rule of the limitation of salvors in pure salvage, that is personal service. The owners or the possessors of the boat or other property which engaged in the salvage are salvors. The third chapter is introduction of the rule of the limitation of salvors who engaged salvage based on contractual duties. And the fourth chapter introduction of the rule of the limitation of salvors who engaged salvage based on statutory duties. As the developmentof the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the influence of salvage becomes more important and the controversy in the legislations and practice of the definition of saivors should be solved quickly. The paper think the rule of the limitation of salvors should be different in different types of salvage, and we should distinguish it properly.
