In May 1997,the New Labour Party led by Tony Blair defeated the Conservative Party,which had been in power for 18 years.The British entered the Labour era,it also represents the social democracy which developed from democratic socialism in wins in the confrontation with the neoliberalism which embraced by the conservatives.This is typical in the context of Europe's overall political climate.After taking office,in order to change declining international status after the cold war and reestablish the image of the world power,the Blair government implemented a series of foreign policies which are different from the conservative party under the guidance of "third way" policy.In dealing with the special relationship between Britain and United States,in order to enhance the status of Europe,the Labor Party has become a link between the United States and Europe,and actively close relations with the United States,keep pace with the United States in many international issues;in Europe,Britain adopted a more flexible policy and actively participate in the process of European integration to seek leadership in Europe;at the same time,in the global level,the Britain also pursued foreign interventionism,troops in Kosovo and Iraq war under the pretext of human rights.At the same time take part in international hot issues to highlight Britain's international influence through positive diplomacy.Against this background,the Labor government also timely adjustment of China policy.First,the successful settlement of the problem in Hong Kong has cleared the gap in the development of the Sino-British relations.In this process Britain has actively developed its economic and trade relations with China,and its investment in China has increased year by year.When Blair stepped down,Britain was China's largest trading partner and source of investment in the EU.On the other hand,in the human rights,Hong Kong and other issues on the joint move to China,trying to put pressure on China to achieve its foreign policy in the moral value.Analyzing its essence,Blair still adhered to the national interests as the most important in foreign policy,promoted all-round exchanges and development in all aspects of Sino-British through frequent exchanges of visits between two heads of Sino-British.This paper tried to make a detailed analysis of the policies of the successive Labor governments after World War ?,and analyzed the influence of the guiding ideology of the labor parties at different times on the foreign policy;analyzed its main diplomatic practice through the study of the main diplomatic strategy of the Blair period.This paper also tried to study the labor government's policy toward China and the development of Sino British Relations during the period from two aspects of value oriented moral diplomacy and pragmatic diplomacy with national interests.Finally,based on the analysis of the factors that influence the Blair administration's policy toward China,this paper evaluated the influence of the Blair administration's China policy from the progress and shortcomings of the policy to illustrate the long-term effects of the Blair administration's policy toward China on the Labor Party and next government to achieve the practical and theoretical significance of this study.
