Research On Evidence-based Juvenile Delinquency Prevention

Since the beginning of 1980 s,evidence-based approaches have had a huge impact in many areas,becoming the worldwide movement.The close coupling of evidence-based approaches and crime prevention began in the late 1990 s.since then,evidence-based crime prevention are more and more popular in western countries,and has greatly promoted the development of the related work.We should also introduce this advanced method in the prevention of juvenile delinquency.The “evidence” in evidence-based practice is the result of scientific research.In the prevention of crime,we need to assess the scientific experimental methods of preventive measures at first,and then evaluate the results of the high level evaluation through systematic review.Compared with the traditional review,the systematic review is unique in the process of production,literature search,evaluation,selection and the treatment of the results,the most striking feature is the classification of the literature.The result of systematic review is the best evidence to follow.The evidence should be extended and used.The decision maker should know and understand the evidence,and set up the idea of scientific decision making.Evidence-based crime prevention has unique advantages,and should be the basis for the crime prevention policy decision making.We should introduce evidence-based approaches and ideas,and draw lessons from foreign evidence-based results,and prepare the conditions for the implementation of evidence-based crime prevention.In the past decades,many achievements have been made in evidence-based prevention of juvenile delinquency,which is of great significance to our country.First of all,we should introduce the project management in crime prevention,in order to carry out the work of prevention and assessment;Secondly,we should pay attention to early intervention and the training of parents;Thirdly,we should pay attention to juvenile delinquency and related risk factors;Finally,we should improve the level of situational crime prevention;In addition,we should be carefully in using the ineffective measures,and stop using harmful measures.
