Discussion On Asian Americans' Political Participation After 1960s

The United States is a traditional immigrant country,and the Asian group is part of the country,which impact the history of the United States.Since the founding of the United States,it advocates equal and natural human rights and other political ideas,but racial discrimination has always been,and has not achieved true equality for everyone.In political activities,the white are the main participants in political,the blacks and yellow race are excluded and discrimination,and in the marginalized status of society.This paper will start with the Asian survival,and discuss on the social discrimination and unfair treatment of Asian immigrants in the early(1960s-20 th century),and analysis the anti discriminatory political activities,such as the establishment of political associations,the naturalization of immigrants,the adoption of judicial system and the equal right to education.However,the restrictions participation of early Asian immigrants in politics,mainly limitation to the Hawaii and California,and the main subject of political participation was Chinese and of Japanese descent,and a few of whom participated in government departments.In addition,the social public image of early Asian immigrants was bad,who was called " yellow peril." Since the amendment of the Immigration Law of Nations and the Voting Rights Act in the 1960 s,,the Asian political participation has changed greatly with the growth of Asian population,the improvement of American political environment,the improvement of the economic status of Asian society and the contribution of political associations.The level of Asian political participation scoped,the consciousness of political participation,the form of political participation,the improvement of Asian position,the Asian political participation considerable influenced on the Asian group.Asian groups improve their situation through political participation,known as " model minority" by American society.,which affected American politics and the performance of the democratic system of the United States and the American democratic political system.
