Legal anthropology is a brand new subject compared with traditional branches like jurisprudence or civil law.There are lots of great anthropologists from 19 th century till now.Sally Falk Moore is an outstanding scholar among all of the legal anthropologists.She learned Swahili to serve her field work in Kilimanjaro.She never stopped writing and published a theory called “Semi-autonomous Social Field” at 1973.This essay begins at the history of legal anthropology,mainly focused on who are deeply influenced Moore and their theories.Based on the rule of “arguing begins with introducing that person”,firstly I wrote things like Moore's experience when studied in law school,the surroundings.Paragraphs below concentrate on the content of the “Semi-autonomous Social Field”.In order to make the argument clear,this section choose field work and case analysis as example and make Moore distinguished with other scholars.In the aspect of field work,Moore has her own perspective and character,and for the case analysis Moore has her own special methodology.Western scholars good at analyzing cases,so does Moore,her diagnostic incident refers to her sift to those cases.“Semi-autonomous Social Field” born at 1973,based on two elements “autonomy” and “isolation”.In this way,Moore enhanced the research about small society.Finally,connected with the facts we are facing,referring to the theory of “Semi-autonomous Social Field”,analyzing the setbacks and solutions towards our research perspectives,methods,and attitudes.
