The Revelation Of Pre-Qin Confucianism’s Governance Thought On Contemporary State Governance

The Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth CPC Central Committee puts forward the requirement of “promoting the modernization of the state governance system and governance capability”,which highlights the significant role of governance in the perfection of the socialist system.With the rapid development of China’s economic level,the imbalance of material civilization construction and spiritual civilization construction has become increasingly prominent,especially the lag of social moral construction,so that egoism,corruption and other unhealthy values are popular in our society.And to highlight the function of ideology and culture in the process of governance,is not only conducive to reach a consensus about social values,but also to integrate social interests,harmonize social relations,and establish social order.The governance value of pre-Qin Confucian governance thought is universal,and its influence is not only in the past,but also in the present and the future,because the inheritance of ideology and culture has a continuing historical characteristics.The pre-Qin Confucian governance thought,which is deeply rooted in the practice of traditional politics in our country,exists not only as a metaphysical theoretical form,but also as a practical system design.Under the social background of the time,on the one hand the pre-Qin Confucian inherit the ancient political and practical experience of the rule of virtue,and on the other hand actively learn from the rich ideas contained in the existing literature,so that Confucian governance thought is formatted through the combination of their own social ideal and practical social development.On the basis of integration and perfection,the connotation of governance thought is constantly enriched and developed in the direction of systematization: regarding “benevolence” and “rule of virtue” as the command,mainly including “self-cultivating and being harmonious to others”,“the benevolent loving others”,“law and discipline rite implementing together” and other governance ideas,in order to achieve the rule the country ideal of “the world going benevolent”.It has produced many aspects of impacts for more than two thousand years to our country’s social development.History has shown that the pre-Qin Confucian governance thought has a strong vitality,which is not only rooted in our character and spirit,but also profoundly affects our thinking pattern and behavior,and thus potentially guides the direction of social development.It has the outstanding factors to promote the social development,and is also possible to impede the development due to the containing negative factors.It is the time to objectively analysis and reveal the reasonable connotations of universality and regularity in the governance thought of pre-Qin Confucianism,and excavate its details and values in depth,both of which should be inherited and innovated,combined with modern state governance for cultivating the civilization of contemporary state governance.
