A Study Of Cyber Bullying On Adolescent

With the advent of age of cyber and information,the phenomenon of cyber bullying tends to be more general and severe as the cyber has permeated to the adolescents' life nowadays.Cyber bullying is a kind of aggressive behavior conducted by some group or individuals under the vicious intention that make use of the cyber and other electrical ways.This behavior has a strong impact on the adolescents' mental health and routine learning life.Although some studies have focused on this phenomenon by the perspective of Psychology and Pedagogy in western countries,the domestic studies still stand at the stage of beginning.As the severity of cyber bullying in current special condition of China,this study aims at exploring the risk factors of victimization and proposing the intervention strategies for cyber bullying,which is based on the empirical research methods.Before analyzing,the sampling survey has been conducted between two schools in A province,from which 362 samples stem.Then six measured variables have been classified based on the theories of Routine Activity and Life-style Exposure: the exposure on routine online pattern,supervision on the Internet,online accessibility,online behavioral deviation,selfprotectiveness and traditional behavioral deviation.Combined with these variables,this study has showed the correlation and its degree between the dependent variable of victimization of cyber bullying and the six independents.As a result,the risk factors have been tested and raised,for that proposing the intervention strategies based on Clark's situational crime prevention.The conclusion of this study as following:The correlation between online behavioral deviation ? traditional behavioral deviation ? lacking supervision on the Internet ? the exposure on routine online pattern and victimization of cyber bullying is significantly strong and positive respectively,that means these four independents are the risk factors of victimization.With the higher degree of the conduction of traditional behavioral deviation,the higher degree contributed by these four independents,the risk of the cyber bullying victimization will be higher.
