A Criminology Study On Cyber Bullying

Bullying is a kind of deliberate,continuous and attractive behavior.It aims at to harm others body or mental damages.The era of Internet,especially the popularization of mobile Internet,traditional campus bullying had a new pattern of manifestation---cyber bullying.The openness and anonymity character of Internet makes bullying much more common,hidden and harmful,and has new characterizes.Like the traditional bullying,cyber bullying is a harmful behavior.It can cause serious damage to victims.So this is a criminal behavior on criminology study.Cyber bullying research started late in our country,most of the existing researches are focused on the role of education in schools and families in cyberbullying from the perspective of pedagogy.Most of the studies on the causes of cyberbullying are focused on comparative aspects such as bullying.The factors such as bad motives,tolerance of bullied people,indifference of onlookers,inadequate school supervision,etc.,are only considered from these factors,and it is difficult to put forward comprehensive and targeted solutions.As cyberbullying is a harmless and socially harmful act,this study considers it as a criminal behavior in criminology from the perspective of criminology,and thoroughly studies the characteristics and causes of this behavior.Corresponding governance and preventive measures are proposed to provide theoretical references for the formulation of specific prevention and control measures.This essay intend to analyze cyber bullying on a criminology perspective.The essay can be divided to these parts:The first part is the introduction of cyber bullying.First,analyze the concept of cyber bullying.By comparison of traditional bullying and other similar concept,then give the definition of cyber bullying: One juvenile deliberately,continuously threatened,harassed,insulted or harmed by another juvenile through the Internet or other electronic communication tools.Then,with some real cases and criminology theories,to conclude the relationship between cyber bullying and crime and bring it into criminology study.Last,describe the phenomenon of cyber bullying,concluding it's characterizes.The second part is the research of the reason of cyber bullying.With a criminology sight and theories,analyze the reason of cyber bullying from individual and social level.In the individual part,mainly discussed from criminal biology and criminal psychology.Juveniles are on growing stage,so their bodily and mental characters play a role in conducting crimes.Criminal biology research has unique values on this level.Juveniles,at the same time,on a key stage of socialization,social environment and cultural background has great impact on the occurring of cyber bullying.Social Control theory,Differences in Communication theory and Violence Subculture theory are used in this part to find the social reason of cyber bullying.The third first introduced foreign governance and precaution of cyber bullying.Since Cyber bullying was a new phenomenon in our country,foreign experience would be valuable to us.The second part outlook the strategy of cyber bullying governance in our country from law,education and society perspectives.
