Research On The Formation And Enlightenment Of Mao Zedong's Theory On Handling The People's Internal Contradictions Correctly

It is the 60 years anniversary of the publication of Mao Zedong's great work “Handling The People's Internal Contradictions Correctly” this year.Although great changes have taken place regarding to the political,economical as well as cultural aspects in China during the past 60 years,Mao Zedong's theories on how to deal with the people's conflicts still apply and remains great importance.China is now facing a crucial stage of development and modern construction where a great amount of contradictions and challenges exist.It is not only an opportunity but also a great challenge.The mission of building a harmonious society proposed in The 4th Plenum of the 16 th CPC Central Committee is a significant strategic arrangement.To build a socialistic harmonious society is neither neglecting contradictions nor extinguishing them.It is a positive way to solve the contradictions on the basis of understanding and realizing what the contradictions are.The biggest challenge we are encountering is to identify the contradictions and make positive actions so as to remain a stable society.Thus there is no better time for us to put more emphasis on Mao Zedong's theory on handing the internal contradictions between the people through which gives magnificent contribution on building a socialism with Chinese characteristics.This essay analyze Mao Zedong's theory on ‘handling people's internal contradictions correctly' in 3 parts.The first part shows the formation and development of the theory.The author divided it into three stages.The first stage started from the ‘the first discussion' to The 2nd Plenum of the 8th CPC Central Committee,then continued to the letter Mao Zedong sent to Huang Yanpei,stopped at ‘the second discussion'.During this stage,Mao Zedong believed that contradictions still exist in the socialism society.He mentioned the basic contradictions of socialism society remains between amphoteric substance such as the people and provided solutions to it.It shows the foundation of his later theory.The second stage began from his speech in January to the speech in February,the speech at the publicity conference until other four speeches he made when going to Tianjin as well as some other places in the south.Mao Zedong gave a comprehensive explanation on handling the internal contradiction between the people,which is the ‘general theme' of the socialism society with Chinese characteristics.It meant the theory is basically mature.The third stage started from the several modifications on the script of his “Zhengchu” speech,to The 3rd Plenary Session of the 8th CPC Central Committee,which further completed the structure and description of Mao Zedong's theory.Meanwhile,as the change of The Rectification and Anti-rightist Movement,Mao Zedong's theory had changed.Besides the emphasis on anti dogmatism,he raised the issue of revisionism and add the information of strengthen class struggle in the vision of his speech script.It is a landmark not only on the enrichment and development,as well as the revolution of his theory.In the second part,the author analyzed the theoretical contribution and limitation of Mao Zedong's theory on handling the people's internal contradictions.The author believes that the significant contributions Mao Zedong made on scientific socialism contradiction theories are recognizing and emphasizing the Marxism contradiction theory,putting forward the the contradiction and its solutions as well as pointing out the nature of socialism politic was handling the people's internal contradictions and how to handle them.At the same time,due to the period of time and the limitation of the party,certain restrictions existed in the theory unavoidably.Such as not pointing out what the main contradiction was explicitly,showing a hazy definition of the contradiction with our enemy,misjudging on the prediction o class struggle trend as well as providing a too simple solution to handle the contradiction.The third part explores how Mao Zedong's theory on ‘Handling the Internal Contradictions between the People Correctly' inspires and enlightens us today.The author believes that the formation and development of this theory as will as its application from the positive and negative aspects in practice proves during the great journey of building the socialism society with Chinese characteristics we should recognize and identify the contradictions,fasten our steps on democratic construction,insist on scientific development and improves the establishment of socialism society.
