University of Illinois Chicago's Social and Emotional Learning programs was organized by a non-profit organization and "academic, social contact and emotion synergy"(Collaboration for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning), the aim of the SEL is covering from kindergarten to each Junior high school compulsory courses and allow make students to deal with their emotion and skill efficiently and ethically. Ministry of Education in China worked together with UNICEF launched a social and emotional learning program. Through this research project, our students' level of mental development will be improved, and they will learn to manage their emotion. These skills include the students' cognitive and dealing with their emotional, improving care and concern for others, establishing positive relationships, making responsible decisions, and dealing with challenging situations constructively and ethically.These skills make children able to calm down when angry, dealing with conflict respectfully, making ethical and safe behavior.In this study, a junior high school students in Chongqing was surveyed by a questionnaire and interviews, and the paper is divided into three sections to analyzed and discussed.The first part is an introduction. In this part, a summary about current situation of the international development of social and emotional learning and a literature review about contents, methods, procedures, objectives and necessity of social and emotional learning has been made. After a series of reading and summary, the author decided to investigate a Junior high school in Chongqing and formulate a series of research methods and processes in the end.The second part is the implementation and analysis of research methods. First of all, a questionnaire survey has been made in A Junior high school in Chongqing. The data will be used by SPSS software to analyze. Combined with interviews and observations come to investigate the current situation of them, then to analyze the reasons of the current situation..The third part is proposed to strengthen the school's social and emotional learning management, parents join in social and emotion learning, and create a good atmosphere for social and emotional learning in communities for solving learning problems of junior high school students for social and emotional learning. All this above is to improve student learning and social and emotional learning skills.
