Teacher evaluation is an important tool in improving the effectiveness of teacher's teaching. Its value has been confirmed by many studies. Every education reform in American focuses on the teachers' evaluation.At the same time,people are unceasingly thinking about "what is the true effective teacher evaluation".North Carolina teachers evaluation system has experienced three stages of development. In the 1970 s the North Carolina tried to build the evaluation system of teachers. Then the state used the teacher performance appraisal instrument. In the early years of the 21 st,the state began to build North Carolina Teacher Evaluation Process. The No Child Left Behind act policy gave the policy support for the new system provides;The Race To The Top plan stimulates the north Carolina reform;The 21 st century learning framework built the blueprint.North Carolina Teachers Evaluation Process system includes the standards, process, tools and implementation.The teacher evaluation system of North Carolina has a close combination of teacher evalua tion and professional development, the professionalism and operability of the evaluation criteria, as well as the democracy and integrity of evaluation process. Formulate feasible evaluation standard.Attach great importance to the teachers who play the principal role in the evaluation.Use kinds of evaluation methods.There is no doubt that analyzing the success of the north Carolina teacher evaluation system can draw some inspirations for our country.
