Preview before chemistry class is one of the important methods to enhance students'learning efficiency in class,improve the interest of studying chemistry,cultivate students' autonomous learning ability as well as chemistry learning habits,which in return can help to improve their grades.However,so far the senior high school students as well as chemistry teachers haven't realized the importance of preview before class,thus paying a little attention to it.Therefore,it is very necessary to investigate and study the factors which affect students' preview,so as to improve their abilities to preview before class.The researching questions of this paper are listed as follows:(1)what is the connotation of preview for both the senior high school students and their teachers before chemistry class?(2)How about students' understanding and habits of preview before class?(3)How about the chemistry teachers' understanding of preview as well as handing out tasks about it for students before class?(4)What are the difficulties in previewing chemistry class for the students?And what do they expect the teachers to do about those difficulties?(5)What are the methods and strategies to improve the preparation of chemistry class for senior high school students?And how can teachers and students improve their preview of chemistry lessons?This paper consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction to the research questions,the research purpose and significance,the research content as well as the research ideas and methods.The second part is the literature review,including analyzing both the domestic and foreign relevant research status on "preview before chemistry class",and " structured preview before class" as well as explaining the core concepts involved in this study and so on.The third part is the implementation of the survey.It not only states the design and distribution of the questionnaire which cover the dimensional analysis of the questionnaire,the reliability test and the analysis of the basic situation of respondents,but also describes the design and content of the interview outline.The fourth part is the survey results and analysis.It analyzes the basic information and the existing problems about the preview before chemistry class from the points of view of both students and teachers respectively,and also puts forward some effective strategies on how to improve their preparation before class.The fifth part is the conclusion and suggestions.This part mainly discusses the conclusions of this study and related suggestions,innovation and deficiency,as well as reflection and prospect.Finallv.the conclusions are reached as follows:(1)Most of students have cognitive misunderstanding on the purpose and meaning of the preparation before class.They lack the awareness of initiative study,haven't formed the habits of preview before class.Besides,the ways in which students preview before class are need to be improved.(2)Teachers haven't paid much attention to the diversity of students' learning ability and teaching content differences when they arrange preparation tasks.Also teachers'supervision and inspection on the preview tasks are not enough.(3)As far as the preview task is concerned,students expect that their teacher can give a clear and definite preview task and method as well as his or her evaluation on their work.(4)Teachers should start from the contents and learning conditions of the teaching materials when arranging preview task.Since the students are the main body of preview while the teachers are responsible for guidance.Only by considering this point can the efficiency of preview be improved.(5)Students should choose different preparation methods based on their learning contents.Also they should keep reflecting and learn to adjust their preview ways.
