Physics class preview in high school serves as an essential part in efficient study as well as a major method of cultivating students’ competence of self study. The aim of this research is mainly to penetrate into the current problems existing in physics class preview arising from both high school teachers and students and, therefore, to put forward reasonable suggestions respectively.In the first place, this thesis is theoretically based on constructivism theory, humanism theory, multiple intelligence theory and the theory of autonomous learning and discovery learning. Meanwhile, it adopts the literature approach about preview before class at home and abroad in order to determine the study of this thesis.Then, questionnaires and interviewing are conducted from high school teachers and students two dimensions. Importances are greatly attached to high school teachers and students’ understandings, attitudes and actual practices towards preview before physics class. Furthermore, based on the problems unraveled from the surveys, some preview strategies,principles and methods before high school physics class areadvanced and their operation and application are validated by means of educational experiment.Finally, conclusions are reached as follows:Followings are the current problems in physics class preview in high school: inconsistency between some teachers and students ’ attitude towards previews and their actions;insufficient awareness of preview in less competent students;dissatisfaction of the effect of self previews in some students;the lack of preview guidance from some physics teachers,including the guidance of preview methods and time management;the hierarchical task design of high school physics previews still remains in the theoretical phase; some teachers’ half-hearted check and their inappropriate assessments of previews.From the perspective of assigning the physics preview task,some aspects should be paid attention to by physics teachers in high school: explicitness in aims; concreteness in content;scientifically arrangement of time; promptness in checking;multi-variance in assessment.From the perspective of accomplishing the physics preview task, some aspects should be emphasized by high school students:improving the awareness of preview before class; arrangingpreview time reasonably; knowing preview goals clearly;carrying out feedbacks towards preview; nurturing the habit of self study.Although significant discoveries have been uncovered, some limitations of this thesis are unavoidable and need to be refined. Therefore, further researches about preview before high school physics class are required in my future study.
