In the context of “new curriculum reform”, many mathematics teachers in Chinese senior high schools encourage and advocate a mode of inquiry-based teaching. In order to follow the spirit in the “Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform”, it is imperative for mathematics teachers to emphasize an effective mode of teaching in exploratory classes. On the basis of constructivism learning theory and effective learning theory, this paper analyzes the current situation of students' learning interest and creative ability, makes an exploratory teaching design for “Function Images”, and prepares class teaching records. According to the feedback of teaching records, the teaching design is revises in time and a second teaching record is conducted. Several suggestions and strategies are put forward to improve the exploratory mathematics teaching in senior high schools. The details are as follows:The first chapter mainly introduces the background information of effective mathematics teaching in exploratory senior high school classes, as well as the research objectives, meanings, thought and methods, theoretical basis and definitions of relevant concepts. This provides intellectual preparation for research on effective mathematics teaching in exploratory senior high school classes.The second chapter is mainly about the literature review both at home and abroad. Some literature and results concerning exploratory teaching and effective teaching both domestically and abroad have been analyzed to provide theoretical basis for research on effective mathematics teaching in exploratory senior high school classes.The third chapter analyzes the current situation of students' learning interest and creative ability in senior high schools, makes a class record, and make a second class teaching record after revising the original teaching design content based on the feedback of the first class record. Questionnaires are sent to students and teachers to get their feedback information.Several suggestions and strategies are put forward in the fourth chapter to improve the exploratory mathematics teaching in senior high schools according to the feedback information on the two class records.
