With the development of the ages, the problems and shortcomings existing in traditional teaching are becoming more and more apparent. In traditional classroom teaching, teachers play the key role in giving knowledge while students only have to memorize what they are taught. It's hard for us to meet the requirements of quality education which calls for cultivating students'innovative spirits and practical abilities. Exploratory teaching in mathematics is a new learning pattern in which students take an active part in the lessons,research,intercommunication and cooperation. It helps promote the development of students in all-round way and cultivate the students of their innovative spirits and practical abilities in their creative study, which is helpful to overcome the existing problems in the traditional mathematics teaching.This thesis is intended to adopt the method of document analysis,case analysis and the experiment analysis to research into the theory of mathematics teaching in high schools and to present the practical process of exploratory teaching in mathematics through cases, as well as to adopt experiment analysis to check the result of exploratory teaching in mathematics.The following thesis is intended for discussing how to carry out the exploratory teaching in classroom teaching in high schools in theory and practice to achieve the aim of further development in exploratory teaching in mathematics and to develop the students'consciousness and abilities to analyze and solve problems by using mathematical knowledge as well as to improve the teacher's teaching level. Meanwhile I hope it can provide some advice for other teachers in the process of teaching.
