The development of higher education requires the change of the evaluation method of higher education, taking the students as the center, paying more attention to the students' learning effect.Engineering students are the reserve forces of future engineering talents, For the engineering and technical personnel, paying attention to their learning effect will have important significance in the future of their own development and meet the needs of social economy. As a research-oriented comprehensive university, Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST) attach great importance to the teaching quality of undergraduate students, where engineering students are majority in the number of undergraduate students. So, it is necessary to pay attention to the learning effect of HUST engineering students. This study is based on HUST, from the student body levelto explore the impact of school support on the engineering students' learning effect, and tries to find out the main factors that affect the effectiveness of school support.This study takes the students as the center, pays attention to the engineering students' learning effect, from the perspective of school support, to explore the influence of school support on the engineering students' learning effect. With survey questionnaire of students' learning and development in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, it firstly analyzes the improvement of the learning effect of engineering students in the aspects of subject knowledge, humanities, innovation consciousness, international vision and other comprehensive abilities, by means of comparison, and then analyzes the perception of degree of engineering students of schools for schools to provide support services of academic support(divided into professional courses and teaching), social support, infrastructure support(divided into learning facilities support and life support facilities).Finally it explores the school support factors on the learning resultthrough regressionanalysis.It is found that the engineering students in the learning effect of self-improvement sense exists obvious difference, where improvement of cultural heritage is the highest, but improvement of international perspective is the lowest. In terms of recognition of school support, recognition of the support of learning facilities is the highest, and recognition of social support is the lowest. Teaching in school support has the greatest influence on the learning effect of students, with minimal impact on the support facilities. Based on this, the study suggest school should pay attention to the cultivation of undergraduate international, do a good job of school support related services, especially the guidance of academic exchanges, and create engineering students learning evaluation system, to effectively enhance the engineering students learning effect and improve the overall quality of education.
