The reform and development of higher education make the quality oftalents training become the focus of attention. With the increasinglyprogress of national science and technology enterprise, the engineeringtalents are particularly noteworthy.The study evaluates the quality of curriculum from the perspective ofstudents’ learning outcomes, by evaluating the actual development ofstudents’ gains in ability and quality to promote the understanding ofeducation methods and evaluation perspective. Based on this, this studycombines with American students’ learning outcomes evaluationquestionnaire and the social demands for engineering students to developthe students’ learning outcomes self-report as the evaluation tool. Choosethree classes of mechanical engineering students under different trainingmodes, to analyze the value-added learning outcomes and influencingfactors and compare the results of the engineering education reform.The study finds that the learning outcomes of engineering students canbe evaluated by tool which evaluates these abilities through learning process.While the comparison shows students in different training systems havedifferent learning outcomes and learning process do influence their abilitiesgained in university.
