A Folk-custom Sport Culture Research On The Torch Festival Of The Yi In Longlin

As a new trend of research field in the 21 st century,folk-custom sport culture not only shows a strong vitality,but also plays a leading part in the development of culture,society and economy of a nationality.Taking the Torch Festival and other cultural activities of the Yi nationality in Longlin as targets,we carried out a research in Tuanshi Yi stockade and in Agaoton of Longlin,De' er with the methods of field investigation,literature,interviewing,observation,logical analysis,etc..Starting from the practical aspect of developing folk-custom sport culture,we have made a analysis and a summary of the development and influence of the Torch Festival in modern society as well as having done a dissection over the existence and expression form,and the connotation of it.Besides,we have tried to figure out its cultural deposits,the degree of social identity.All of these research aims at finding efficient ways to further improve its popularity and influence,to adapt it to a new social situation,and most importantly,to make it passed to future generations and develop sustainability by creating a developing pattern combined by “ culture,tourism,trade” and “jubilation”.The two can form a “3+1” pattern,which will provide a thinking mode to the protection and development of the culture of the Yi nationality.Researches have shown that:1.The existence form of the festival is connected with sacrificial practices,military wars,the ways of working and folk entertainments.Thus,playing moqiu,beating spinning top,wrestling,archery are taken as the main activities of the Torch Festival,showing the internal characteristics of nationality,region,religion,festival dependence,education inheritance,entertainment,daily life and universal adaptability.2.The Torch Festival is closely linked to “fire” in traditional cultureand sacrificial ceremonies.Both have profound effects on it.On one hand,the worship of fire leads to the Yi' s value orientation,which contributes greatly to the development of its sports form.On the other hand,religious ceremonies provide support conditions,promotion for nationalization and activity implement to the Yi' s sports culture.3.On the background of its traditional culture,the guidance of the Yi religious ceremonies,the ethnic memory composed of the order of folk sport culture and the universality of local people reflect society' s identity for the Torch Festival.4.During its history of inheritance and development,the Yi' s folk-custom sports have shown lots of modern functions including well developing both mind and body,education,entertainment,economy and connection.Also,the Yi' s sports culture shows its modern society value system in the fields of folks and history,society and science,art and economy,etc..5.After holding the Torch Festival,we reconsidered the folk sports culture it had shown,and lastly we found the following problems.Firstly,the alteration of this festival's form had put its national sports culture at risk.Secondly,the publicity means had been too out-of-date to enhance the development of tourism.Thirdly,the scarcity of folk accessories had affected visitors' psychological needs to purchase.
