In order to understand the muscle strength characteristics of wheelchair fencing athletes, this study used the isokinetic force test system to test the isokinetic strength of shoulder joint, elbow joint and wrist joint of some athletes in Shanghai wheelchair fencing team. The different muscle performances under varied velocity and the differences between male and female athletes were analyzed.Summarizing the characteristics of their muscle strength of the three joints on the upper extremity, and exploring the law behind it can help the training of wheelchair fencing, enrich the scientific research and project, and provide a certain reference for future studyResearch methods: By using the CON-TREX body muscle strength assessment system developed by Physiomed company in Germany, this study measured the shoulder, elbow, wrist Peak torque, relative peak torque, flexion and extension ratio, average power and other indicators of 12 excellent male and female wheelchair fencing athletes from the wheelchair fencing team in Shanghai sports training center. Also, this study used of statistical analysis on the comparison of each joint-related muscle strength at different speeds under, the comparison between male and female athletes as well as the comparison between the non-sword and sword hand. All of the above are designed to enrich the wheelchair fencing research,to explore the development of wheelchair fencing project and to further promote the development of the project. Results: 240 female athletes shoulder joint abductor muscle peaks torque significantly less than men athletes(P < 0.05),the adductor group of male and female athletes have no obvious difference;Shoulder, elbow muscle peaks decreases with the increase of speed, torque and wrist joints on the contrary,as the movement velocity increased from 60 ° / s to the 240 ° / s,wrist joint abductor muscle increased peak torque, speed up to 240 ° / s,men athletes wrist abductor muscle of peak torque significantly greater than the adductor peak torque(P < 0.05),and female athletes the wrist side peak torque under 60 ° / s and the 240 ° / s outreach peak torque were greater than adductor muscle under the peak torque,a very significant difference(P < 0.01).And under the 240 ° / s abductor and adductor peak torque difference is more big than 60 ° / s.Adductor peak torque men athletes were significantly greater than female athletes(P < 0.05).Elbow,shoulder joint under different speed its average power change was not significant, but the men athletes wrist abductor muscle group average power under the 240 ° / s are significantly higher than 60 ° / s.In addition of male and female athletes in the side of the elbow and far greater than the peak torque difference(P < 0.01).Illustrates the male, the female athletes each joint related muscles of shoulder, elbow muscle strength and speed of execution of the dive and wheelchair fencing athletes swords and closely related to receive sword action,at the same time, not a sword lateral elbow muscle may be a widening gap between male and female athletes of one of the important reasons. Conclusion: The peak torque of the related shoulder and elbow joint muscles decreases with increasing velocity, and the wrist is opposite.Long-term specialtraining can make specific changes in the wrist, more adapted to rapid centripetal contraction.Women athletes can better adapt to the rapid movement of the sword. The strength of the elbow joint by the non-sword side and the explosive force in the rapid movement have an important influence on the stabbing and retrieving movement of the athletes.
