College students are the builders of socialist modernization and the successors to the realization of communism. Whether they can establish Marxism belief and the degree of their Marxism belief is not only related to their all-round development, but also related to the fate and future of the whole country. Therefore, it is an important task for political and ideological workers to strengthen the study of Marxism belief education for college students, and to enhance the effectiveness of Marxism belief education in college students.Firstly, based on the connotation of belief, this paper expounds the connotation of Marxism belief, and then obtains the content of Marxism belief education.On this basis, this paper expounds the connection and differences between Marxism belief education and ideological and political education for college students. The most fundamental and core task of ideological and political education for college students is Marxism belief education. Marxism belief education for college students has its own unique characteristics, which is not only regular and scientific, but also has individual selectivity. The reason why college students should be given the Marxism belief education is the need for college students to shoulder the historical mission and adhere to the ideology of the Communist ideology.Also, it is the spiritual guarantee to consolidate the ruling status.Secondly, the analysis on the problems in Marxism belief education for college students. According to the connotation of Marxism belief education for college students and the results of questionnaire survey, this paper believes that the current situation of Marxism belief education for college students is not optimistic. University students lack recognition of Marxism; some college students suspect the realization of communism; most people affirm the party's advanced nature, but lack adequate confidence in the construction of an honest and clean government. The causes of these problems are various, both from the educated people, that is, the students themselves, and the educators. This paper analyzes and explores the causes from the three aspects of the students themselves, the educators and the social environment, and considers that the educators are more important factors in Marxism belief education for college students. They lack the identity of Marxism theory and the recognition of politics; they attach more importance to the knowledge education but less to the belief education. Colleges and universities did not form an independent Marxism belief education system. Also, the teaching management and implementation of Marxism belief education needs to be further optimized.Thirdly, the countermeasures to improve the education of Marxism belief in college students. There are many reasons why the education of Marxism belief for college students didn't achieve remarkable success. However, the main reason is the lack of scientific understanding of Marxism theory. Both students and teachers are not good users of Marxism theory to solve practical problems; they can not effectively distinguish the purpose behind the western “universal value” ideology and lack the identity for Marxism theory, so they can not form Marxism belief. Therefore, in order to give the Marxism belief education to college students, on the one hand, the university students and teachers should be aware of the importance of faith education and Marxism belief education; especially college teachers should have the correct political direction and enhance the political identity of Marxism. As for the situation where college students, teachers, and colleges give more importance on knowledge education but less on belief education, it should be improved in the classroom teaching from the following three aspects., improving the degree of attention to Marxism, improving the examination methods and refining the ideological system. On the other hand, both teachers and students must really learn Marx's classic works, and continuously enhance their ability of solving practical problems with the theory of Marx's classic works. Only through their real study, real understanding and real use of Marx's classic works can they really believe Marxism. The most important thing is to improve the contents of Marxism belief education for college students; according to the particularity of Marxism belief education, the teaching quality should be improved through a variety of teaching methods in which more exploratory discussion experiential teaching and practice perception are used; and give full play to the role of public opinion propaganda.
