Research On The Present Situation Of Russian Billiards In Suzhou And The Effective Measures For Its Development

Russian billiards is an elegant recreational table game with lower requirements for sports venues,equipment and small investments.Having the advantage of being easy to learn and to popularize,this interesting and challenging game meets the requirements of the all-round development of billiards enthusiasts and is suitable for people of different classes.Adopting the methods of documental analysis,expert interview,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics,this paper investigates the present situation of Russian billiards in Suzhou,summarizes its problems emerging during the development process and puts forward constructive measures for its development.The conclusions of the research are as follows.(1)Russian Billiards industry develops fairly well in Suzhou,with its high level of the hardware and software facilities in the clubs and the active participation of the billiards enthusiasts.The billiards clubs in Suzhou,mostly run by those with lower educational attainment,have a large number of young and middle-aged coaches.Therefore,Russian billiards courses have a solid mass foundation in Suzhou.(2)The number of participants in Russian billiards matches has been on a slight increase in Suzhou,with foreign players in the majority.However,Shenzhen has more domestic players than other areas in China,Suzhou included.(3)The development of Russian billiards in Suzhou is faced with many restricting factors,including lack of policy support and publicity,inadequate numbers of coaches and members,insufficient capital investment and improper use of field resources.(4)Effective measures for the further development of Russian billiards in Suzhou include strengthening policy support,enhancing cooperation with the Russian Billiards Association,laying more emphasis on publicity and advertising,developing intangible assets,putting more efforts in the training of coaches,admitting more members,making better of social resources,increasing capital investment,optimizing the field and rationally allocating facilities.
