As parents are generally more educated than ever, they pay more attention to what kind of education children should accept, which consequently leads to a public focus on the "Philosophy for Children" Education that expects to teach children how to think. At present, the theoretical study of "Philosophy for Children" in mainland China tends to explore such areas as the concept of "Philosophy for Children", its significances, its feasibility and its necessity, while on the Practical level it is limited to an exploration of the introduction and analysis to the Liuyi primary school. After summing up a variety of materials, the author discovers that very few scholars do a systematical and insightful study on Child Education in mainland China. Therefore, this paper, based on theories of logics, education and psychology, will seek to present the theoretical foundation of "Philosophy for Children" and trace its origins. Besides, it attempts to set a definition for concepts related to "Philosophy for Children", analyze Child Education on the practice level from the approach of school education and social education, and finally reconstruct the Child Philosophy curriculum based on the "Philosophy for Children" elements, course-setting conditions, textbooks and philosophy education under multi-disciplinary perspectives.The author believes that "Philosophy for Children" consists of conversations, questionings and philosophical inquiries and that Child Philosophy class will be effective on condition that it acquires the willingness to research on philosophy, the classroom control ability, and the teachers' quality. The author suggests that the textbooks for Child Philosophy should reflect the traditional Chinese culture. Textbooks, which contain mythology, picture books, children poetry, fairy tales and fables will meet the need. "Philosophy for Children" under multi-disciplinary perspectives should combine the philosophical thinking, the content and the methods with other subjects.
