In recent years,the problem of novice teachers or new teachers has been paid attention by all parties and has become an important field of teacher education research.Some of these studies described novice teachers from the perspective of the teacher's development stage.In particular,there are a lot of famous research,such as Fuller's "teacher attention stage theory",Katz's "teacher development period"Burton's "Teacher's career development model",Fessler's "the career model of teacher career cycle" and so on.However,the characteristics of the novice teacher form abroad may be different from China.China has its own cultural characteristics and educational traditions,such as the special organizational form,teaching requirements,teacher stratification system.These abroad studies do not take Chinese characteristics into account.So the characteristics of novice teachers form other countries may not be same with Chinese teachers.Therefore,this study aims at sorting out the characteristics of the novice teachers' development from eight different experts' theories.At this basis,we copared how much Chinese novice teachers can reproduce these characteristics,and then considering the Chinese cultural and educational traditions.What's more,there are many differences,and we tried to work them out from the perspective of China's education tradition.A semi-structured interview with nine teachers was also conducted around the main question of the study.We found that Chinese and foreign teachers have a lot in common through the analysis of collected data,such as both of them concern about their ability to survive in new environment,whether they can get recognition from leader,colleagues and students,and what mistakes or discipline problems will they encounter during teaching process and so on.On the other side,there are also differences between Chinese and foreign novice teachers,For example,foreign teachers pay more attention to the management of class,and Chinese general teachers are not very concerned about this issue but by the teacher in charge of the class operation and management.At the same time,we found that the Chinese educational tradition has some help and promotion to the adaptation and development of the novice teachers,but there are still many problems that can not be ignored,which can not provide timely and real help for novice teachers,such as lack of relevance and effectiveness,less successful master-prentice mode,and formalized and superficialized teacher cooperation.What's more the Chinese characteristics of the incentive system whether honor system or title system has little effect on novice teachers.In order to help novice teachers adapt to the role of teachers and the environment of the school as soon as possible.School and society should put forward some improve measures for the novice teachers and help them successfully pass the early career and lay a solid foundation.
