With the application of information technology in the current educational reform,big data has become a hot topic in the field of education.From a technical point of view,educational-big-data is to record the learners' learning paths by collecting the data traces left by them in media processes,then to analyze these data through artificial intelligence technology and mathematical statistical methods in order to find the learners' related information,namely,their learning routines,learning habits,etc.and to assess and predict the learners' learning behaviors.Accordingly,the big data will provide for the learners personalized learning materials and methods,changing and updating the present monotonous classroom teaching method.Hence the individualized education will be possible and feasible.However,due to the initial and incomplete application of big data in education at present,most of the researches still stays in the theory discussion stage.As to the practical teaching mode and teaching effect under the guidance of big data,there is still no comprehensive and unanimous conclusion.As to how to define the educational-big-data products and their application range,there is still no assessment system to rely on.Therefore,this paper,taking Gaomu Intelligent Learning Platform in Grade 8th mathematics teaching as an example,integrating relevant teaching theories,the Grade 8th mathematics curriculum into the application mode of Gaomu Intelligent Learning Platform,via achievement analyses,classroom observations,questionnaires and interviews with teachers and so on,attempts to probe into the following questions:(1)Will the application of this platform improve the students' academic records?(2)Will the application of this platform improve the students' learning enthusiasm and learning efficiency?Through the above studies,it comes to the conclusion that the educational-big-data has more advantages than the traditional teaching methods in the fields of the learners' individualized learning,well-balanced development,academic records and the learning enthusiasm.But concerning about the students' learning motivations,mood shifts,psychological impulses,the platform can't show them directly.Therefore,the educational platform based on big data cannot construct an intelligent system similar to human brain,hence it cannot totally replace the artificial teaching in the end.
