Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge(TPCK)is a new concept proposed by American scholars based on Pedagogical Content Knowledge(PCK)in recent years.TPCK mainly refers to the dynamic integration of Pedagogical Knowledge,Technological Knowledge and Pedagogical Content Knowledge, which is a kind of sophisticated knowledge emphasizing to empower teaching through integrating with technology in specific context.Teachers should not only have isolated subject content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and technological knowledge, but also the integrated knowledge of these three kinds of knowledge. With the increasing application of technology to English teaching, integrating technology with pedagogical content knowledge to improve teaching effect has great significance for effective teaching.Literature survey shows that studies on TPCK are comparatively inadequate in the field of basic English education,so it is hoped that this study can enhance the English teachers' integration of technology with pedagogical content knowledge in junior high schools,so as to further improve English teaching quality. In this paper,32 novice English teachers(who have been teaching for less than two years, with an average age of 25)and 32 experienced English teachers(who have been teaching for 5-10 years, with an average age of 35)are selected from the interviewees in Yantai junior high schools in city and towns. The main research questions of this study are to find the differences and similarities between novice and experienced English teachers in terms of Technological Knowledge(TK),Pedagogical Content Knowledge(PCK)and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge(TPCK).Through the analysis of the data, the author got the following main findings:In terms of PCK,the total average score of novice and experienced English teachers in junior high school English teachers is 4.37 the highest among TK,PCK and TPCK indicating that both these two types of teachers have a good grasp of pedagogical content knowledge in teaching practice. However, experienced English teachers' average score is 4.45,higher than that of novice English teachers' 4.12 showing that novice English teachers' practical teaching implementation needs to be further improved. In terms of TK,the average scores of novice and experience English teachers' TK ranks only second to that of PCK,the total mean value of TK is 4.12,indicating that both novice and experienced English teachers have strong awareness on the importance of technology for English teaching, but their ability of TK's specific implementation needs to be further improved. Moreover, novice English teachers' average score in TK is 4.16 higher than that of experienced English teachers' 3.94 which shows that the novice teachers have inherent advantages in the mastery of advanced educational technology. In terms of TPCK,the average score is the lowest, and the total mean value is 3.87,indicating that both the two types of English teachers' ability for effectively applying TPCK on English teaching is not satisfying, although the experienced English teachers' performance is slightly better than that of the novice, the mean value of experienced English teachers' TPCK is 4.12,while the novice English teachers' is 3.71 which shows that both of these English teachers need to further improve their TPCK.
