With the development of society and the emergence of knowledge economy,individual work characteristics have gradually changed.Traditional work design theory describes a top-down management approach which managers usually design jobs for employees,and employees are only responsible for implementing it.However,due to the increasingly pursuit of high self-value of employees,organizations become more and more difficult in scheduling fixed tasks and behavior.This top-down process limits the autonomy and initiative of employees,and some employees begin to "redesign" their work,thereby generating the Job Crafting Theory.Job crafting refers to the ways in which employees take an active role in initiating changes to the physical,cognitive,or social features of their jobs.Previous research has studied the effect of job crafting on individual creativity;however,most of these studies are based on the four-dimensional structure,which is derived from the Job Demand-Resource model.In this paper,I focus on the task crafting——the changing of number,scope,and type of job tasks,and its relationship with creativity.Besides,according to the interaction perspective of creativity,I use the motivation as the individual factor,the individual trust as the social contextual factor,to explore how individual,task and situational factors interact with each other to influence the individual creativity.In this study,I sent questionnaires to a senior vocational school in city A of Yunnan province.I collected questionnaires from a total of 190 teachers,and asked their direct leaders to score these teachers respectively.At the stage of data analyses,I used the AMOS 21.0 to conduct Confirmatory Factor Analysis,the SPSS 22.0 to calculate the correlation matrix,and the HLM 6.0 to conduct the hierarchical regression analysis.The findings show that task crafting positively relates to creativity.I also found that the relationship between task crafting and individual creativity was negatively moderated by extrinsic material motivation and cognition-based trust,such that when extrinsic material motivation and cognition-based trust is low,the greater the positive relationship between task crafting and creativity.I ended this study by addressing theoretical and managerial implications and directions of future research.
