English writing plays a vital role in English learning in senior high school.This research studies the existing problems in the teaching of English writing in senior high school by analyzing the status quo and teaching methods of English teaching.By reading related books and papers,the theoretical framework and characteristics of cognitive apprenticeship are studied.The design for the cognitive apprenticeship teaching model is explored by the cases of the application of cognitive apprenticeship.The effects of cognitive apprenticeship teaching model are researched by applying cognitive apprenticeship teaching model to the Desheng Senior High School of Economic and Technological Development Zone in Dalian.Based on the data and results of the experiment,the effects of cognitive apprenticeship teaching model on students' motivations and writing levels are further analyzed.The research aims at exploring the following two questions:1.What are the effects of cognitive apprenticeship teaching model on students'motivations of English writing?2.What are the effects of cognitive apprenticeship teaching model on students' writing levels?In order to solve these two questions,cognitive apprenticeship teaching model is applied to the teaching of English writing in two classes for a semester.At the beginning of the experiment and at the end of the experiment,students are required to complete questionnaires and tests.All students participated in the tests and accepted the questionnaires.There are interviews of students and teachers in the experiment.In the process of study,the researcher collect and record the relevant data carefully,which is analyzed and summarized in the end.The results mainly have two major findings.On the one hand,cognitive apprenticeship teaching model inspires the writing motivations of students.Most students can establish a correct attitude towards the writing tasks and their initiative of English writing can be enhanced.Students show great interest in the topics of writing and are willing to express their true feelings.Their exclusion of English writing has greatly reduced and their enthusiasm of writing has improved.On the other hand,cognitive apprenticeship teaching model promotes the improvement of students' writing level.The results show that the writing level of most students has improved steadily after receiving the cognitive apprenticeship teaching model,and some students have made qualitative changes in their ability of choosing words and arranging articles.Cognitive apprenticeship teaching model plays a significant role in the improvement of students' writing skills,the cultivation of thinking patterns and the formation of advanced thinking patterns.
