Reading comprehension is a significant part of English teaching and English test.In the NMET,the proportion of reading comprehension takesup to 20-30%,which received extensive attention of teachers and students.Students in reading comprehension,however,in addition to the slow reading speed,it is also a problem affect the grades of reading comprehension.Except for meeting the requirements of vocabulary quantities and language knowledge,students should also master relevant theoretical knowledge of text analysis from the perspective of text types,textual patterns and cohesive devices,which can help students to understand texts deeply,to cultivate the students' reading ability and improve the grades of reading comprehension.This research adopts the text analysis theory to analyze 96 NMET reading comprehensions in the year of 2007 to 2016 to find out the text types,textual patterns tense features and cohesive devices in the data,and use Excel to complete data statistic.Through the study,the writer find out that narration's frequency is the highest,exposition is the second,argumentation is the third and description is the lowest in these 96 texts.As for textual pattern,general-specific pattern is the highest,narrative pattern is the second,claim-respond pattern is the third,problem-solution pattern and question-answer pattern is the minimum.The study results also show that among the cohesive devices,the proportion of reference is the highest,lexical device is the second followed by conjunctions,substitution is the fourth,ellipsis is the lowest.The results of this study has a guiding significancein high school English reading comprehension teaching.First of all,teachers need to input knowledge about text types,textual patterns,and relevant knowledge of cohesive devices.Secondly,in the daily reading comprehension teaching,guiding students to thoroughly comprehend the texts with the text analysis theory.Finally,the teacher need to develop students' good reading habits,summarizes the correct method to answer questions.
