The new curriculum reform advocates the implementation of STS education in Chemistry Teaching,emphasizing the teacher to introduce the real situation into the classroom and the students are able to apply the Chemical knowledge what they have learnt to the actual life.The lesson "Combustion and fire fighting" is an excellent material of STS curriculum,which embodies the STS education in three aspects : science,technology and society.Therefore,we designed this lesson based on STS Education,looking forward to providing teaching reference for secondary school chemistry teachers.Firstly,the article explained the importance of STS education.Based on integrated study on STS education at home and abroad,together with existing instructional design,we designed the teaching of "Combustion and fire fighting" according to the theory of STS Education,and carried out the teaching design in chemistry class of junior high school,aiming at improving students' ability of solving problems.There are seven parts in this thesis,the main contents are as follows:The first part,putting forward the problem,clarifying the reasons for the topic.The second part,review of the research in the STS and existing teaching research of "Combustion and fire fighting".Analysis found the feasibility and necessity for designing "Combustion and fire fighting" based on STS education,and we gained a lot of useful inspiration.The third part,clearing about the purpose and mission of the research.The fourth part,the research constructed the teaching design strategy based on concept of STS education,including fully understanding of STS education target,contact STS content to create learning situation,design situational driving problem carefully,design and organize a variety of research activities.This laid the foundation for the following STS based teaching design of "combustion and fire fighting".The fifth part,carrying on the teaching design of "Combustion and fire fighting" based on STS.Establishing the teaching goal of the lesson based on the teaching content and analysis of the students.Teaching process was based on the concept of STS education,first of all,from the focus of this society the combustion reaction to push the Temple II off to ask the introduction of the subject,and then guide students to explore the conditions of burning fire,the principle of fire prevention and other scientific knowledge.On this basis,guiding the students to apply scientific knowledge to the field of high-tech sector,analysis the mystery of spacecraft fire prevention design and the immortality of the torch design,thus establishing the organic relationship between science,technology and society by the main line of combustion and fire fighting.The sixth part,carrying out teaching practice of teaching design of "Combustion and fire fighting" based on the concept of STS education in this study.The learning effect of students is tested by self-made after class exercise and student interviews.The seventh part,research conclusion and prospect.Summarizing the results of this research,and put forward the problems need to be solved further.
