Most of the traditional Dong settlements consist of vast wooden buildings.There is a great fire hazard within them.In history,the Dong villages have experienced a large number of fire incidents,which cause huge damage to Dong residents,while lots of cultural heritage on architecture is destroyed by it.With the development of society and economy,the government has invested a lot of money on rural construction.However,how to protect the traditional culture during the revolution is important.In Dong village,wooden buildings stand close to each other,so there is a big fire density within it.The main problem is how to weigh the revolution and the protection.This paper summarizes the basic characteristics of the traditional Dong village and the situation of fire prevention,and attempts to extract the fire prevention factors which also benefit to traditional culture protection.The paper puts the pattern of Dong village plan as the key point of the fire prevention and puts the Performance Fire Protection Design as the principle.Set up model by using the software FDS to take a research on the spread of fire.And finally,try to put out the local suitability fire strategy for the Dong village.Taking Linlue Village as an example,this paper explores fire prevention strategy by means of filed investigation,theoretical analysis,computer simulation and practical design.Specific as follows:1.Come up with the framework of the Performance Fire Protection Design of traditional Dong village.2.According to the basic characteristics of the Dong village,the paper comes up with fire separation as the key method to fire protection.3.Use FDS to find that the horizontal plane with the Gulou Square on the bottom edge is the most suitable choice for fire protection among all group plan,and find the shortest distance of safety for Dong building:facade for 5.5m,side for 4m.4.Apply the research results to Linlue.The study of this paper combines the relevant knowledge in the field of Humanities Society,Fire Safety Engineering and Architectonics,thus several disciplines complement each other.The research not only fully respects the traditional culture but also is scientific and operable.
