Cooperative learning is regarded as one of the greatest contemporary education reform. At present, there are many cooperative learning method proved to be effective .This paper mainly adopts the TGT which designed by Diwolisi and Professor Slavin in 1978 . The team-games-tournament in the classroom that first appeared in the United States and other western countries, such as golillas's research in 1989 shows that the cooperative game is helpful to improve the students' social skills in the teaching process.Team-games-tournament is the concept of cooperative learning,emphasize team reward,personal responsibility and success opportunity and so on.The level of people in different groups as compared to the object, to compete, to win the team ranking points score.In today's society, Team-games-tournament as an important method and means, has been widely used in practice in many countries, has gradually appeared in the physical classroom teaching, such as Yang Hongchang says in his paper "Application of TGT and STAD cooperative learning teaching experiment in the experimental class adopted" that team-games-tournament, found to be superior in improving students' sense of cooperation and other aspects of the traditional teaching method.For the team-games-tournament used in junior middle school basketball teaching effect. Based on consulting a large number of cooperative learning books,literature and experimental data ,the author summarize the characteristics of cooperative learning, the related theories and application status are in practice, and refer to the practical application of team-games-tournament in teaching, apply team-games-tournament to junior basketball teaching, taking teaching experiment, and analyze the effects of team-games-tournament on the basketball teaching of junior middle school students. In this study, we take Class 3, class2014 students in our school as the research subjects: the experimental class, Class 4,class2014 students for the study of control - and that in comparative classes. The application of team-games-tournament in the experimental class, to "explain - cooperative learning - Summary" as the main line; the control class using traditional teaching, with "explanation - practice - feedback to explain - again -summary" as the main line. Through the analysis of questionnaire and the comparison of test scores which about basic skills of playing basketball before and after the experiment,the author analyze the using effect in the basketball teaching in junior high school. After nearly one year of classroom experimental study, the following conclusions are obtained:First, compared with the traditional method, using team-games-tournament give full play to the students the power of the "little teacher", greatly improve the efficiency of the classroom, promote the healthy development of students.Second, through team-games-tournament used in junior middle school basketball teaching, the students' ability of dribbling, shooting is obvious increase, students score dribble layup has obvious progress.Third,the use of team-games-tournament in junior high school basketball teaching,make students truly become the masters of learning. Learning in the group witch create a harmonious unity, optimistic, learning atmosphere, students are more active, the enthusiasm of students' physical education significantly improved.Fourth,through the team-games-tournament is applied, make students learn to listen,learn to understand, pay attention to team cooperation, gradually enhance the team consciousness, perfecting students' world outlook, the holistic view development.
