The Ordinary High School English Curriculum Standard has put forward the concept of training students' learning strategies in order to promote their self-regulated learning capability. As classroom is one of the most important places where students acquire their learning strategies, research on the English classroom environment will be of vital significance to students' learning strategy development.Taking into consideration the fact that the domestic research on the relationship between English classroom environment and students' English learning strategy is insufficient, this study, adopting the method of questionnaire, investigated the perception of English classroom environment and the English learning strategies of high school students from185 Senior One students in a middle school in Zhangzhou. This paper brings forward three questions:(1)what is the status of high school students' English classroom perception?(2)what is the status of high school students' English learning strategy?(3)what is the relationship between high school students' perception of English classroom environment and their English learning strategy? By carrying out descriptive analysis and t-test of the data using SPSS,the investigation finds that in the English classroom environment, student learning autonomy, student cohesiveness and teacher support score relatively well while their task orientation, class order, classroom involvement and student cooperation perform poorly;at the same time, high school students' English learning strategies do not score as well as expected,of which the meta-cognition strategies reach intermediate level, and the cognition strategies and learning resources strategies mid-low level. It is believed that this phenomenon has a close connection with the insufficiency of effective in-classroom activities.Resorting to bivariate correlation analysis, further study reveals that there is a middle-high significant positive relationship between high school students' perception of English classroom environment and their learning strategies,at 0.761.For the purpose of addressing the problems students face in their perception of English classroom environment and English learning strategies, this paper brings forth the following suggestions: first, teachers should respect students' role as the host of the classroom, build a self-regulated and positive classroom where teachers and students are equal, and lay down regulations that make the classroom learning effective;second, teachers should work out feasible learning tasks that enable students to acquire learning strategies;third, teachers should recognize the advantages of cooperative learning and mobilize students to carry out cooperative learning;fourth, teachers should optimize their knowledge structure, improve their comprehensive ability and prove themselves equal to be the facilitator and organizer of the classroom. The breakthrough of this study is to confirm the hypothesis that high school students' perception of English classroom environment has a mid-high correlation with their English learning strategies statistically, contributing to the research on high school students' perception of English classroom environment and English learning strategies and paving way for further research.
