As comprehensive strength of China has been enhanced and China's international status has improved,people around the world see more and more Chinese culture elements in their lives.Disseminating Chinese culture and fostering English learner's Intercultural Communication Competence have become the consensus of many English teaching researchers.This educational concept also arises in senior high school English education stage.The latest English Curriculum Aims for Senior High School propose to foster student's Intercultural Communication Consciousness and the basic Intercultural Communication Competence.The senior high school English textbooks,like the New Senior English for China Student's Book by People's Education Press,contain a lot of Chinese and many foreign countries' cultural knowledge,but about the Chinese cultural knowledge are not regular and enough.Most senior high school English teachers don't teach the Chinese cultural knowledge thoroughly,so the students can't express the Chinese culture in English.This phenomenon will hinder students from getting the Intercultural Communication Competence and Consciousness.The purpose of this dissertation is to find and research the effective methods and actual results of strengthening Chinese culture teaching in English class of senior high school.This dissertation adopts two research methods which are questionnaire survey and teaching experiment.Questionnaire survey includes “English learning interest questionnaire” and “Intercultural Sensitivity Scale”.After the teaching experiment,the first questionnaire is to test how students' English learning interest to change,the second is to test how students' Intercultural Sensitivity to change.According to the actual teaching situation and the present research achievement of cultural teaching,author adopts four methods to strengthen Chinese culture teaching,they are cultural infiltration,cultural aside,comparison method and cultural capsules.At last,author should test students' English language ability.The research results indicated that strengthening Chinese culture teaching in English class of senior high school could improve students' English learning interest,Intercultural Sensitivity and English language ability.Author writes out the comprehensive and meticulous explanation and analysis about the research results and hopes this dissertation could give some help for strengthening Chinese culture teaching in English class of senior high school.
